Keep the plan moving after the course ends.
It is easy for your Growth Action Plan to get lost in the day-to-day work. Choose one priority, agree who will take it forward and put a review date in the diary.
Start with a 30-minute reset
First 10 minutes: review the direction
Read your plan and identify what has changed. Are the intended customers, priorities and assumptions still right? Mark decisions that need revisiting.
Next 10 minutes: choose the next priority
Select one outcome that would make a meaningful difference over the next 90 days. Explain why it matters and what you will deprioritise to make room.
Final 10 minutes: agree the first action
Give the priority one person responsible, a first milestone and a progress measure. Put the next review in the diary.
Three reasons a good plan can lose momentum
Too many priorities. Everything remains important, so nothing gets enough attention. Choose a smaller set of outcomes and say what will wait.
Unclear ownership. A team can support an action, but one person needs to own the next step and bring back progress.
No regular review. Set a regular moment to look at results, deal with problems and change the plan when circumstances change.
Check whether your public message has kept up
If your strategy has evolved, your website may still describe the business as it used to be.
InkWell’s free website review shows the message a prospective customer encounters today. Use it as a starting point for bringing your business direction and website message up to date.
